Shoes for Transitional Fall Weather
Tall Boots (To the Knee Boots)
Tall boots are highly recommended for autumn as an elegant choice. A good pair of boots hit right below the knees, and the shafts should be a close fit around the calves. A slightly larger size may be a good fit for certain boot types/styles, making it easy to wear on/remove comparing boots with zippers and a pull-on style. Heel options can vary from high slim heels (stilettos), block heels, wedges, and so on. Colour choices for autumn include black, brown, light tan, khaki, creamy white, etc. These tall boots are always great to be styled with blazer dresses or simple black dresses, a mini skirt, or leather leggings, depending on different dressing styles. Other boots (Ankle boots, Over-The-Knee Boots, etc.) are also a good fit for women with different heights, requirements for various occasions, and corresponding outfits.
Flats (Mary Jane flats / Ballet Flats)
Two types of flats suitable for autumn are Ballet Flats and Mary Jane Flats. Besides unique designs, these flats are functional with easy slip-on mechanics and lightweight soles. For ballet flats, besides traditional colours, we also recommend a slightly deeper, richer tan colour. A leather cap toe has both an aesthetic design and is easy for busy professionals to clean, compared to delicate smooth leather. A light brown colour blazer is suitable in this case. For a black or a check blazer, ivory-coloured ballet flats fit, and for an oversized fawn blazer, leather jacket, or pinstriped long coat, black-coloured flats are better. Moreover, Mary Jane flats are recommended as they have sleek, or slender, flattering shapes, and some of them have thin straps (elastic or buckle). Some leather may be thinner (less cushioning) and need to add inserts for comfort. It is also a good fit for blazers and skirts.
Loafers
Loafers are also good fits for autumn as they have been a mainstay in fashion for generations and are considered a classic choice for the fall season. They blend comfort, versatility, and polished style in a seamless way. From various styles of loafers, we recommend chunky loafers and penny loafers as business casual/formal attire choices. Penny loafers can be paired well with khakis, a button-down or polo shirt, and a sweater layered on top for a classic fall style. Its leather construction and low heel provide cushion and support when you're on the move, the traction on the sole also adds stability, which is good for students or business professionals for commuting, meetings or social engagements. Moreover, chunky loafers are also recommended as they add a little bit of edge to some simpler outfits, which can be styled with long sweater jackets, tweed jackets, or oversized sweaters.
